Abstract :
The adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) by students at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University of Ngaoundéré was analyzed using theoretical models, notably TAM and UTAUT. The study aimed to identify the main psychosocial and technological determinants facilitating this adoption. The methodology involved a quantitative survey conducted with 202 students, utilizing a structured questionnaire based on these models, and analyzing the data with statistical methods, including multiple linear regression. Results showed that social influence is the predominant factor with a beta coefficient of 0.343 (p<0.001), explaining 58% of the variance in usage intention (R2=0.58). Positive attitude towards AI and moderate effort expectations were also significant predictors, with betas of 0.207 (p=0.001) and 0.207 (p=0.002) respectively. Perceived ease of use and education level contributed significantly but to a lesser extent. The model’s quality was confirmed by an F value of 56.47 (p<0.001). In conclusion, AI adoption mainly depends on psychosocial factors such as social influence and attitude rather than technological resources alone, highlighting the importance of adapted educational and managerial strategies.
