Abstract :
he objective of this study is to verify whether, in a context of covid-19, economic growth in the DRC can be constrained by the balance of payments, according to Thirlwall’s law. To verify this law, an error-corrected vector model is used on a sample of data ranging from 1965 to 2022. The results show that even with a shock of the magnitude of covid-19, growth Congolese economy is not constrained by external demand. The study suggests focusing on infrastructure and sectoral measures to further boost internal consumption and consequently economic activity.
